Long time Anorak friend, Chloe Owens has a new book out and it's craftingly good!
Chloe Tells You How... To Sew is filled to the brim with great craft ideas, from simple templates for squashy biscuits and false fuzzy beards, to stitching felt toys and upcycling furniture.
Chloe is a huge fan of 60s and 70s nostalgia - psychedelic patterns, old comic book annuals, vintage fabrics and style - and this colourful book is bursting with that inspiration, even incorporating activity pages, just like in a good ol'fashioned annual. Puzzles, colouring in and dot-to-dots are found in amongst the basic sewing tips and tutorials.
The step by step instructions are accompanied by a mix of playful illustrations and photography, and are laid out as a story, so you meet the same characters creating different things throughout the book. The fun pages and storytelling make this a really engaging read, and a lovely way to learn to sew! Now if you don’t mind, we’re off to make a felt Jammie Dodger for tea.
Published by CICO Books and available to buy from all good bookshops.
