Meet the Happy Stockist: Eenymeeny!

Eenymeeny is one of the coolest kids shops we know. Located in the heart of North London, it carries an impeccable selection of toys, clothes, books and decorative pieces. I love that Anorak contributors and crazy Spanish duo Cachete Jack did a mural for this gem of a shop during Christmas. We catch up with Clare, eenymeeny's creative director.

Tell us who you are, how long you have had your shop for and what inspired you to launch it?
Our shop has been going for 2 years now. I was inspired to open it for many reasons. It is mainly inspired by my background of design and working with children in creative environments. I graduated in Illustration from Central St Martins and worked in the education department of Tate Britain. But also inevitably it's inspired by my kids and their quirks (if they don't like a product, it doesn't go in the shop). I wanted somewhere local that kids could spend their pocket money on something decent, and parents could buy something of quality without a silly price tag.

What were your favourite books when growing up?
My favorite book when I was young was "The Tiger who came to tea" by Judith Kerr. I had a real fascination with the Tiger character, and would read it over and over. When I think back, I had experienced the loss of a loved one (and a big character in my life) when I was very young.. and I think I found some weird connection with the little girl in the story. But I didn't know it then. Weirdly, much of the styling of our clothes and toys and the vintage vibe in the shop may have been inspired by that little whimsical girl...

What are you currently reading?
I am currently reading ( you would love it!) "Just My Type" by Simon Garfield, an absolutely brilliant book about...FONTS! I am not ashamed of my long love affair with type and fonts and this book is one of the best things I have read in ages. (Geek).

Not geek but proud Anorak!! Thank you Clare!
