Well. That sun was nice while it lasted, eh?
Luckily we have a whole ark-load of fun things that you can do indoors whenever the rain clouds roll in. If your creativity is such that the vast array of free printables available online is not enough, it’s easy to create your own too!
Here are a few ideas that should get imaginations going...
Grab some stones from the garden, give them a lick of paint (or just enjoy their natural hue) and then give them mouths, eyes, ears, tails, trunks! If you choose to make one animal, why not make a whole pebble zoo to play with?
A horse, a mouse, and a ‘firebird’! A little less imagination is needed whilst making these, but plenty of playtime and storytelling when they’re done. How an earth did this group of creatures come to be friends? Lovely templates available from Mr Printables here.
Pop Up Paper Village
Bring out the little architect in your family with this printable from Anorak friend Made by Joel. The kids can draw whatever they want on to the buildings or simply colour them in, and then play endless games with their new pop up city. Wonder whether Joel could make us an Anorak city?
We love these psychedelic patterns and how bright and crazy they will look when filled in. Why not draw even more based on patterns around the house, and have the kids colour them in. Or better yet, let them design their own.
More Colouring In
May we also bring to your attention our dazzling array of colouring books and posters available to buy from our online shop? Would be a shame not to mention that, huh?
