Victoriana rules.

An elegant princess with the head of a bat. A space helmet devised not 'to compromise style when journeying the outer reaches of space." A stunning laced dress which breaks into delicate butterflies. A telescope-like device that detects the presence of ghosts. A wall covered in peacock feathers. These are some of the wondrous pieces of art currently on display at the Guildhall Art Gallery, as part of Victoriana, an exhibition celebrating the inventiveness of our Victorian ancestors.

In this unmissable exhibition, contemporary artists such as Grayson Perry, Mat Collingshaw, Otto Von Beach and Kitty Valentine (amongst others), pay tribute to our incredibly prolific Victorian forefathers in the wittiest and most entertaining ways, using thoroughly modern practises such as film, animation, installation and graphic design.

A must visit for all creative and inquisitive minds, old and young. Victoriana is on until December 8th, London Guildhall.
